A call to action for local governments

StepItUp calls for green-collar jobs in St. Joseph, MI.The Apollo Alliance is a coalition of business, labor, environmental and community leaders working together to catalyze a clean energy revolution in America. Our goal is to simultaneously promote energy security by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, secure environmental stability by investing in renewable energy resources and conservation technologies and programs, and spread a new wave of broadly shared economic prosperity across the nation.

At the local level, city and county leaders share our vision of a new economy. That is why Apollo is mobilizing community leaders across the country to take public action that links the environmental imperative of global warming to economic strategies to create high-quality green-collar jobs.

In partnership with the Apollo Alliance, Center for American Progress, Green For All, and ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez, and King County (Wash.) Executive Ron Sims have issued a call to action to build a green economy from the bottom up. We ask you to join this wave of local action for a just, healthy, and sustainable future.

If you are a mayor or county executive, SIGN THE PLEDGE!
Download the information packet of materials for Mayors and County Executives who are ready to commit to building an inclusive green economy in their communities.
