		<description>"Great Work Michigan"

This is a clear indication of what can be accomplished with clear, proactive government action concerning Green Collar Jobs and fighting Global Warming. I was born and raised in Detroit, worked in the auto industry for a number of years (Dearborn Assembly Plant) before layoffs hit.

I moved to Georgia 4 years ago to re-enter the job market in construction. After 3 years of steady work building Green Homes we experienced another slap from unemployment. Now to make my point, how is it that states such as Michigan, Ohio, California, Oregon and other's move to bring jobs in the new clean energy sector? As you know, recent reports show how California can create Green Collar Jobs and reduce pollution.

However, other regions such as my new home Georgia not embrace Green Collar Jobs as a viable option to put thousands in the peach state back to work, what must we do to help Georgia become more active? Our small but dedicated origination Green World Promotions is committed to keeping Green Collar Jobs on the forefront of Georgia's legislation. On 9/27/08 thousands in Georgia rallied for “Green Jobs Now” this is a clear indication that people in Georgia are ready. I hope we won't be forced to pull up stakes, sell our home and move back to Michigan where Apollo Alliance has helped raise the banner to fight pollution and create jobs at the same time.

On April 24th 2008, Georgia's governor did issue an executive order "Conserve Georgia" to reduce our energy use by 15% by 2020. In order to meet this challenge we will need a trained workforce to help retrofit and weatherize thousands of homes. On Thursday Oct. 23rd I will meet with community stakeholders, GA labor dept and others to push for Green Jobs training. I will update Apollo Alliance on the results of the roundtable discussion.

Thanks you Apollo Alliance, Green for All and 1Sky for your unending work and continued support of voices in the wilderness.
